Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy

Tayside Opera celebrates and values diversity in people, creativity, and thought. We are committed to creating an environment where all members are treated with respect and dignity. We do not tolerate discrimination against others on the basis of:

  • age

  • ethnic origin or race, nationality or membership of a national minority

  • religious faith

  • political affiliation

  • disability

  • sex and/or gender identity

  • sexual orientation

  • socio-economic background

  • any other characteristic irrelevant to the making and enjoyment of opera

All members of the Tayside Opera community are expected to play an active part in the implementation of this policy, never to infringe upon the rights of others through their behaviour or language, and to promote an environment where everyone is treated with dignity and respect and valued for the contribution they make to the company. Bullying, intimidation and harassment of any sort will never be tolerated.

The Committee of Tayside Opera will take seriously reports of any breach of the policy, investigate complaints and take steps to make improvements if necessary. Any such actions will be included in the Committee’s annual report.
